According to the Ordinance of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on how to deal with the use and storage of plant protection products, the storage of plant protection products by professional users should be located at a distance of not less than 20 m from wells, water bodies and watercourses, unless the products are stored on a sealed, paved surface of durable insulating materials, where potentially spilled products can be collected.
The warehouse should be located at a safe distance from areas prone to fire and sensitive to chemical contamination. Storage facilities with a capacity of less than 1 tonne should be built at a distance of not less than 20 m from sensitive areas, or 10 m with fire resistance and the ability to collect firefighting water. The distance of newly built storage facilities with a capacity of more than 1 tonne of plant protection products from highly sensitive areas should be 50 m, or 10 m if the storage facility meets the one-hour fire resistance requirement and allows for the collection of extinguishing water.
