The correct and safe use of plant protection products can require a great deal of knowledge and experience. Properly selective, timely and environmentally safe plant and soil protection must be informed and precise.
Responsible advice takes into account actual needs, agroclimatic and environmental conditions, the purpose of production and the possible consequences of measures in future years, e.g. the risk of resistance development by agrophages. This is why professional advice on the safe use of plant protection products is so important. Independent advice should be widely available to farmers at Agricultural Advisory Centres and inspectors of the State Plant Protection and Seed Inspection Service. Commercial companies, both distributors and manufacturers of plant protection products, also provide professional advice to farmers. It is also possible to use the electronic advisory tools described in Area 4: Farm Management.
