Work within the framework of the Teams at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
The role of society in preparing and giving opinions on the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy for the years 2021-2027 is extremely important, not only from the perspective of procedural requirements and the new model for accomplishing greater involvement of the parties interested at the regional level, but – above all – due to the transparency of creating the Strategic Plan.
The Association of Sustainable Agriculture in Poland “ASAP” takes active part in public consultations of the individual stages of creating the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy, and is a member of:
- the Team supporting the works on designing the development of rural areas and agriculture from the EU funds for the years 2021-2027.
- the Team for the preparation of the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy for the years 2021-2027 at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The remarks and suggestions of changes to the diagnostic part of the Plan, as well as proposals for the development of the interventions to be included in the Strategic Plan of the CAP, affect the final wording of the SWOT analysis and the needs of the Strategic Plan of the CAP.
The activities of the Association revolve around the objectives that address the challenges related to the reform of the EU Common Agricultural Policy. A crucial role in this regard is played by the support of knowledge, innovation and digitisation in farming and on rural areas, as well as the intensification of common actions for even greater sustainability in Polish agriculture.
Our knowledge and experience provides the necessary support for the development of solutions concerning sustainable development of rural areas and agriculture, improved effectiveness of the agro-food sector in Poland, as well as the method for developing the specific support instruments under the Strategic Plan.
Work in the ENRD thematic group
At the same time, the Association participates in discussions on the European Green Deal and the CAP at the European level, as part of:
- the Thematic Group of the European Network for Rural Development (ENRD) at the European Commission.
This special thematic group was appointed for the period from September 2020 to July 2021. Its objective is to exchange the views and opinions on the role of the European Green Deal. The Group’s work is based on the practical experiences from implementing the current Rural Development Programmes, as well as on the existing thematic works concerning climate-oriented actions on rural areas and bioeconomy. It also collects guidelines and ideas for programming ecological interventions as part of the future strategic plans of the CAP.
The main point of interest amongst members of the thematic group is the aspects of the EGD (e.g. the EU Farm to Fork Strategy, the EU Biodiversity Strategy), related to the implementation of the three specific goals of the CAP after 2020 in terms of climate and environment, namely climatic measures, environmental care, as well as landscape and biodiversity protection.
